National Forum Launched for Solar & Storage Code and Permitting Solutions
A newly launched, three-year project, supported by a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Department of Energy Solar Energy Technologies Office, will expand SEAC into a national forum and bring together diverse stakeholders to identify and develop solutions to solar and solar-plus-storage code enforcement and permitting challenges.
"In the 20 years that I have been in the solar industry, I have never seen the level of collaboration, cooperation and, most importantly, unfiltered communication between industry stakeholders, as we have in SEAC."
Los Angeles Assembling Solar Action Committee To Address PV Challenges
The Los Angeles County Department of Public Works (DPW) has created the Solar Energy Action Committee (SEAC) to facilitate an expansion of residential and commercial solar photovoltaic power in the region.
The Los Angeles County Department of Public Works recognized that streamlining and expediting small residential rooftop solar energy systems would encourage adoption of solar PV and help meet renewable energy goals. To help the solar industry and also lead it, in July 2015, they organized the Solar Energy Action Committee.

“Pete Jackson, a longtime member of SEAC, discussed recent solar code updates and the impact on those tasked with enforcement. Topics included rapid shutdown, grounding, energy storage and structural requirements.”
